At Genestack we are tackling the underlying computational and scientific challenges of bioinformatics in order to provide researchers with software tools that will streamline the discovery process and drive forward precision medicine, drug development, and bioinformatics research.

We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented AI Developer to join our team. In this role, you will help integrate AI-driven solutions into our bioinformatics applications, working on both proof-of-concept (PoC) prototypes and scalable production systems. Your expertise will guide our team in adopting cutting-edge technologies and best practices in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.

In This Role, You Will

• Integrate AI solutions: Design and implement AI features for PoCs and production systems using existing models and APIs.
• Stay abreast of AI advancements: Research emerging AI models, frameworks, and technologies beyond major vendors to inform strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work with internal teams to embed AI capabilities into bioinformatics applications and support other developers.
• Optimize AI performance: Ensure efficient token usage and response evaluation to meet project objectives.
  
  

We Would Like You To Have

• Extensive software engineering experience: 6+ years in development with strong CS fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Excellent Python skills and solid Java knowledge for AI integration.
• Hands-on experience with APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex in production.
• Ability to design and optimise complex queries for efficient data handling.
• Ability to convey complex ideas clearly and work collaboratively.
• Interest in applying AI to bioinformatics and life science innovation.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  
  

It Would Be Nice For You To Have

• Experience with AI development frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch).
• Understanding of biological data and computational biology.
• Experience with deploying AI applications on cloud platforms, especially AWS.
• Experience mentoring developers in AI technologies and best practices.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React.js.
